I use my computer for designing and getting ideas off the internet. I find it easier to pull out a tape to visualize measurements.
I have a tape, steel rule, digital vernier, paper and a calculator on my computer desk. The mobile phone is stored in a bucket of water beside my chair. :D
So what tools do you have perched on your desk top?

This is the bare basics. There's also a fairly heft transient population of woodturning tools, turning blanks, pen kits, sandpaper, woodwork & computer related mags & journals, bills, coffee cups and other similar ephemera.

And John {Munruben} reckons that his isn't very tidy?:p

Actually since I had a big clean up yesterday, very little. I had all of last semesters uni stuff still out but it has all been relegated to the bin since results were released on Friday.

At the moment: -
3 piles of uni books for semester 2, laser printer, calculator, pens, pencil porter, ADSL modem and network hub, nail clippers, joke book, pens from Dai Sensei, scanner, folder of school resources, stack of lesson plans and projects for school this week and Rocker's wood puzzle from Ruffly's BBQ prize draw (no way in hell of doing that one without the solution sheet)
