Antares is a class M supergiant star, with a diameter of approximately 700 times solar. I.e., if Antares were placed in the centre of our solar system, its outer surface would extend between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

That is one big star....

I have had this printed out and stuck up on the noticeboard outside my office for about 3 weeks now. It has been extremely interesting to hear people's reactions and that they are all along the same vein

" WOW!!! "
