I'm chasing some small old fashioned slot screws for a kitchen dresser restoration, I can get brass ones locally or through lee valley etc, but can't find the steel ones which I need. Any sources????

Pan head screws is what you need, try here (http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=pan+head+screws&btnG=Google+Search&meta=), good luck. :2tsup:

Might be too limited. Pan heads have a thick flat top with a rounded rim. Try Google [steel screws "flat head" OR "slotted countersunk"] and/or Google [steel screws "round head" slotted]. Quotes in the search field marry the two words; OR is a boolean operator. And good luck from me too.

What sizes and quantities do you need.
I have a few dating back 40 or more years (Screw glory box)

both the round head and countersunk are 1/4 inch in diameter (4/16) and about 1/2 inch in length, need about 30 of each.

They are still available in the US but either do not post to other countries or need minimum amounts of hundreds!

I think they are called stove bolts, the domed head slot screw, if that is what you are reffering to.

Look for "tank bolts" or "gutter bolts", maybe at a rural supplies mob.
