10. A system to report power failures via the Internet
I kid you not. The recorded message on our power failure hot line (regular telephone) suggests their web site for additional help.

BMW manufactured the C1 scooter type of motorcycle that had a set of crossover seat belts.
Very interesting machine. I believe that there are only two in Australia as the Australian authorities wouldn't allow it to be ridden without a helmet being worn by the rider.
The machine was designed to be as safe as a small motorcar.

Not quite the same thing but I read in a U.K.Magazine about a man who wrote to the utilities supplier to inform them of the death of his wife. They replied, in a letter addressed to Mz. Blank Blank Decd, to say that they had closed the account, but that- '-they would leave it open in case she wanted to re-activate it in the future' !!!

Interestingly, I know someone who has a pedal wheel chair, it also has hand cranks, and is custom made based on a 'reverse-tricycle' road bike. He 'rode' it up the stairs at the Sydney Opera House and security just had to let him play as he is technically 'disabled'. It cost as much as a small car, and out performs most cars around the back streets.

You may find this interesting but they do actually have ejector seats in some helicopters, they just shoot the blades off first which tend to do their own thing so its usually quite dangerous, thats why they prefer parachutes.
