We recently installed a new bath/shower mixer with a diverter button. The button regularly doesn't release after we've closed the mixer after a shower. Would it be OK to give it a squirt of WD40? Is this a common problem or is the unit faulty?

Better to use water proof grease, like the blue valvloine stuff.

Thanks Bricks,
How should the grease be applied? Can it be squirted into the button assembly?

I'd ask the manufacturer or the retailer or the plumber. WD40 is not ok in some situations e.g. it is no good for locks.
