Good to hear. Now you can download all the WW videos and blow your bandwidth in the first 10 days of your billing period then get throttled back to 28kps till the next one comes around.
Not that it would have happened to us of course :;

Good Stuff........we fell in the category of the phone line is too long/can't cope...then two blokes came and put a dish on our roof..satellite both ways..........heaven on a stick.
No cost for the equipment or installation....but that still wont change my vote (ungrateful bugger aren't I).
So we can now look forward to speedy replies from Soundman!!!!!!

They said the phone line was too long here too in the past... the old ADSL1 technology would only go 4Km they said..: . I recon the line runs about 7Km to here.
Roll on ADSL2 and it seems they can do it.
well it working now:hapy:
From what I've been told, I shouldn't expect any super fast plans to work here, but as long as it runs basic broad band I'm a happy camper:fingerscrossed:
meanwhile I want to use evey emoticon at least once:download1:
do they have broad band in New Zeland:AO:
But I'll have to use them in context:clown:
cheers

G'day Soundman. Baaaa. Yes indeed, they finally got dragged, kickin' & screaming into the data comms age when someone at last figured it might be a revenue opportunity. Our house is about on the border for ADSL coverage from the exchange but it seems to work OK, mostly. I have an idea that the speed in NZ isn't as quick as it might be. I just found out about using a satellite for inbound and landline for outbound. It seems this is available here too - but a well-kept secret. The bigger the aerial the more channels. With Sky increasing their charges (again), this has to be worth pursuing. The free-to-air stuff here is total rubbish - obviously it costs nothing to produce an ad and nothing to put it to air - hence you get wall-to-wall ads.
