Mick,

It sounds like it has been quite an ordeal for you and your love of your life. My condolences on your loss.

A sad time Mick - may peace be with you and Jane - I wish I could offer you more, but I will offer you both a prayer.

I dread such times but relish the joys of life and time together.

Thank you all for your thoughts. The flowers arrived a few minutes ago, delivered by our local courier. Even though they were mentioned in a post they were a suprise. I'm okay, but telling people about it (our friends, especially distant ones) is difficult, or at least it's difficult to remain composed. I'm keeping busy sorting things out. More than six weeks away with plenty of rain means that I've got,(quite literally) a jungle outside. Also everything is damp and musty so there's plenty of washing and cleaning to be done. I'm keeping my hands busy with mundane tasks which is good at the moment.

I appreciate the collection offer, but I'm unsure of it. We were pretty badly let down by the "system" (all the different agencies etc) until the condition became terminal. I'm not bitter about it, I just don't have any particular agency or organisation that I could point to as worthy recipients.

I really appreciate all the support but I think I'd find it easiest to cope if this thread were closed and we just went back to business as usual. I've even already posted an answer to someone's question. Again, thank you so very much and I hope to catch up with some of you in person a bit down the track when I go for a bit of a longish drive.

Sincerely,
Michael
