Who reckons they have had the most posts deleted?

I must be up there.

Do we have stats?

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Mick

True. But only one can apply to any one instance.

Who gives a rat's?

Exactly. This is not the point, is it?:)

Maybe, but I recon I'm the only one to get an infringment notice because of a cooking thread!:D

Dude, I think his point was we all get them deleted, we all move on

And, while we are philosophising: I just noticed, Grunt, that your humorous take on alcohol is just an example of a universal principle:

Law I: A human must not waste anything or, through inaction, cause anything to be wasted
Law II: A human must, when requested, acquire more of anything for itself and others except where such orders would conflict with the first law
Law III: A human must make good use of anything as much as possible as long as such endeavour does not conflict with the first or second law.

And, Rowan, is your point that:

a) the moderator does not need a reason
or
b) there must have been a reason
:?
Make up your mind, happy to debate either point...:)

The point does not need debating, but since...

The rules state that we do not have to have a reason to delete a thread or post, but if was the one to delete your post then he wouldn't have done so without a reason.

Really get over it. You are not doing yourself any good trying to argue this point. If you really think that the moderation here is too much then go and try one of the American forums and post there. Then you will know over moderation!

Yes, and? Am I not moving on to a different level of discussion? If you do not like this new level, you do not need to partecipate. If you do participate, please be constructive.:)

Aha! See how correct expression makes all the difference?:D

See above. Wasn't I clear enough in expressing the principle that I am happy with the quality of moderation and that this is not the point? With Cliff et al., I do not give a rat's about my posts being deleted, that was only the starting point for asking a legitimate question. So far it looks like everybody is too scared to address the question.

F&E,

Here is something constructive. There is now a sub-forum devoted entirely to fishing. Go get 'em, tiger!

Frank&Earnest

Yep, this is a fishing expedition.:D From you, though, I was expecting more... I thougth you had the b***s to address the issue.:)

Yeah, they are controlled by the CIA, not just ASIO, and they are mean mothers!

This is the second time in as many days that someone has questioned whether or not I have blokely bits. Linden Hardy had a shot (in jest, I believe), and now F&E. I'm beginning to feel emasculated (look it up).

The moderation here is the free market at its best. Neil owns it and Neil decides. Simple, really. Don't like it? Buggar off. (Not directed at anyone in particular, just a statement of fact.) I've had a few posts deleted, and rightly so. But F&E, you are a sly dog. If I am a possum stirrer (and I am), you are a fisherman of the first water.

If you wish to have a discussion of some depth, open a thread to that effect in the proper sub-forum and I will respond. I am one of those blokes with a high IQ who is so Stupid. I have more education than I can use and so would be glad to slough some of it off on those who can use it.

There are no smilies in this post, becaue I am not smiling. But, again, I am not angry, either, just puzzled. What in the world do you want?

[NB: Kiss this post goodbye, I suppose.]

It would actually be a far better forum if the threads were all wood related.

As for the non-wood stuff, I'd prefer all of it to be moderated out!!

... yes, I sometimes like being provocative.

Me too (and it wasn't even rude).

I wonder if there is anybody with 1000+ posts who hasn't had a post deleted?

Doubt it.

I have lost a few. Deserved it too.

One board, that I am a mod on, is much stricter.
Delete the post and possibly delete the user.....:o

I've had the odd one deleted.

And given that everything I post is of equal importance....

I'm surprised there haven't been a lot more :-

My sincere apologies, I thought this was the proper sub-forum. If the Moderator is willing to direct me otherwise, I will be happy to comply.
I will also be grateful for an indication of which posts in this thread are deemed to be "drivel" and which are not.

Vongole... someone didn't like my sauce:D .

The only other infraction notice I've received was for some poetry I posted..................someone had a low tolerence for John Cooper Clarke... I couldn't fathom that one either but in the grand scheme of things who gives a toss..

Tis just ephemeral words on a screen...

Sorry that it had to be you, BT, you are no worse than the others, but this post just happened now that I have received a warning for "drivel". I would feel insulted if my posts were considered drivel and yours were not.
