Hi.

We have lifted up old vynil tiles to sand and polish floorboards from a house we've lived in for 40 years. Termite damage to floorbaords have been found and we need to replace some damaged boards. It is 83mm Tasmanian Hardwood. Is this easily availbale? If so, where? Am in Melbourne. Any recommendations on pest controllers welcome also. Thanks..

We had to replace some 108mm Tasmanian Oak but couldn't find it new anywhere, but did eventually find recycled floorboards at

They're in Port Melbourne and they had a large range of sizes and species and I was able to select individual lengths to match our existing 50+ year old floorboards. From memory we had to go through a few batches of 83-86mm Tasi Oak before we found the 108mm we were after. Our existing floorboards had some wear and tear and even after sanding new boards would have been much lighter in colour and stood out like dogs balls so we were happy to use recycled.
