hi people i just grouted my tiles a few days back and had to attend to a work call that night.:oo:

obviously the grout is stuck in all the crevices of the tiles and has been that way for 48 hours.:o

today i put water on the floor and scrubbed with a hard bristle broom which did ok but i cant seem to get the rest off!!!!!:no:

what will remove the grout and loosen some of the bigger deposits??????

any help appreciated

Bunnies have a nice Ozito rotary hammer drill for $69 - that'll take the grout off quick smart. :D You didn't really like those tiles anyway.

Other than that, all I can suggest is elbow grease and maybe one of those stainless steel pan scrubbers.

Get some pool acid, add it to a bucket of water. (not the other way around)

Test dribble some on a bit of old concrete & keep adding acid til the test bit has a fine white fizz.

Now mop it over the tiles, rub it into the thicker bits.
The grout should was off.

Once it is all gone, mop it twice more with fresh water.

If you don't dare use pool acid, you can dick around with white vinegar but the tiles will smell of it for a while afterwards.

Tiles should be acid washed even of you haven't left grout go hard on them. It's amazing how much cleaner they look afterwards (ie, therfe's always a film of grout on teh tiles otherwise).

It is hydrochloric acid. There are different grades in terms of how it's produced but it's still hydrochloric acid, still needs to be handled with care, and will still burn you if you spill it on your skin.

Also available from hardware stores such as Bunnies, Diggers brand. Used it to clean my bricks, 10% solution in water. Add acid to water, never the other way around, it will splash and burn you. Use rubber gloves and safety glasses/shield. Will burn your clothes so wear old stuff. Does a good job on old mortar etc though.
