I am about to line a room with timber panelling (VJ T&G style). I was considering using pine battens (42x19 mm) together with gluing and secret nailing the panels.
However I came across an old brochure for "JetFast Timber Panel Fixing System" that uses galvanised metal channels and spring steel clips as an alternative to pine battens and nails. The advantages are that the channel is only 10mm thick and the panels are removeable.
However a Google search for JetFast produced no result.
The manufacturer was Gerrard Springs Division of Kensington Victoria, but I cannot find them in the phone book either.
Does anyone know if this system of fixing lining boards is still available ?
