I am wondering what is the best way to attach floorboard joists/batons to my concrete slab. The plan is to put down the batons and then put a particle board tongue and groove floor over the top to give myself a nice flat surface to lay my floating floorboards. (Leveling any other way would cost to much).
I am thinking of using 19mm thick batons. How would I get these into the concrete slab. Screw? Nail?
Thank you for your help

I have never done this sort of thing ... but I have noted that you normally use an underlay with floating boards. Is it possibel to get a thicker underlay that would accomodate for you slab (not sure how far out it is)?
Just a thought.

I've never used them myself, but I have seen these:

used on some occasions.

Self-levelling compound must be cheaper than battens and yellowtongue, or use battens and real strip flooring.

I use a Hilti Gun for fixing battens to concrete for timber floor boards but I havent used battens any smaller than 40mm deep. I think the hilti gun will split or just go straight through a 19mm batten.
Most Hire companies have Hilti guns available

Yeah, I'm with Pulse - go the self-levelling compound or do a decent strip floor.
From memory, floating floors can be laid on a slab with a surface level difference of up to 3mm per metre.
