Seems rumors are rapidly gaining momentum that a serious proposal has been put to Warnie for a World Cup cameo because our bowling sucks big time. How good would that be.

If its jutst that, a rumour then Shane Harwood who is the best "at the death" bowler in the country must play, and if Roy dosnt pass fitness then Andrew McDonald as the form all rounder in the country has to get the call up. "Ronnie" is easly the most underated cricketer in the country :)

Hmmm... now that would be a big call.

Pluck a bloke who hasn't bowled in a one-dayer for .... exactly how many years???

Maybe they should toss the pill to Ritchie.

Midge you forget one thing, he`s no ordinary bowler but a champion. Look how sensational he was in the Ashes with the ball (and bat) Our bowling is very suspect and it appears now that Lee wont make it and McGrath is way past it. Ponting this morning all but confirmed an official aproach has been made. If Warnie plays we will win, if he dosnt we will get hammered.

And Gumby, im not sure if you follow domestic cricket, but as an all all rounder McDonald has been impecable this season with both bat and ball and would be a great asset. Dont forget Watson is an ordinary bowler.

I heard that they're recalling Lillee, in a feeble attempt to counter the onslaught of the awe-inspiring and overpowering Black Caps. I think there was mention of a Chappel, and something about bringing back deoderant bowling?

:p :p :p

Oh, it's nice to be a keee weeee!

I'm hoping that he doesn't come back. I've been looking forward to seeing and hearing less Warnie crap.

I couldn't understand why they didn't pick him in the first place.

Bit of a bummer for Lee though.

Errm - 1+1+1=......3! I think that's called a whitewash, thrashing, mauling etc etc.

Had we had Gillie, Ponting, Clark and Symonds in, it would have been a different story.

Craig is right, who gives a rats. 1. It's one day cricket and it's not the World Cup. 2. It was played in some little know country that has a chicken for national emblem.

Ah yeah, standard aussie answer when they lose - it was this, that, the other - get over it fellas, we chased record run scores set by your 'second rate' team, and beat you fair and square. Just like the poms did, in fact. Last is still last. See you at the world cup.

Not a chicken BTW, but cute none the less. At least we don't make a sport out of slaying ours. We certainly don't eat it. Well, not in the last 2 centuries anyway.

I was thinking about Warnie.

Last time we had a discussion about him, it was said that he was the greatest bowler ever even though his averages don't suggest that. This was OK, because he's a spinner. It was also said that he takes the wickets of tail-enders and that was the sign of a great bowler.

So let me get this straight. Shane Warne is the Greatest Ever Bowler even though he takes more balls, concedes more run and takes wicket against weaker batsman than Lillee, Hadlee, McGrath or Ambrose?

Their arnt to many more weaker batsmen than them (hadlee the exception)

Let me rephrase that,

than the wickets of top order batsmen that Lillee, etc. would constantly take.

Are you saying that McGrath is a crap batsman? :D

Keep it :aro-u: and we'll get the Mods to remove that "Tassie" part of your name :U:U:U

Enlighten me, isn't Tasmania where they can wear 2 [black] caps at the same time? :q

or

at least, so it has been rumoured.
