Stairs

I have just constructed some stairs (14 risers) to accompany my new deck. The stringers are Gal and the rest (treads,handrail, newels,slats and bottom rail) are all kwilla. My question is that i would like to retain the timber look to the stairs and as they will be a high traffic area what product would give me the best finish. I have tried Intergrain Superdeck but when walking on them with dusty feet it leaves some really distinguished foot prints.

Any ideas??????

Ok...... That was what i was thinking but how long will it last in an outdoor environment... The obvious downfall is that when re-application is required i will have to completely sand the treads back to bare timber ... would this be correct. But I assume i probably do not have much choice. What about its slip resistance? These stairs will sometimes be used after exiting the pool.

Mabe i should start reading all the posts and not just half..... I thought they were inside . sikkins DWD is a good wearing product easly repaired after a couple of years use, or you can go for a oil based product which is the easest coating to recoat at any time. cobots, Feast Watson are just a couple. Polyurathane will last a year or so and then the uv rays in the sun will breakdown the polimers and start delaminating. I have seen some decks done in poly and have lasted 15 years. It depends on the exposure to the sun.

Decking oil is fine for around swimming pools. oil is easily rejuvenated by brushing on a top coat directly over the old coat. The coating will start to look dry when it needs re coating. If it is exposed to direct sun, you will need to touch up dry spots about every 1-2 years, oil is a preservative.
