Hope I can get assistance with a problem with either Internet Explorer or Trend Micro Internet Security.

Basically there are a few on-line tools that I use (such as the ones on www.ips.gov.au (http://www.ips.gov.au) ) and one of them in particular uses a Java applet to perform a calculation and open the results in a new window.

When I try to use the tool, IE tells me that it "A pop-up was blocked", and for the life of me I cannot work out how to either tell IE that the site is safe, or to disable the pop-up blocker (which I'd like to do for this site and a few others only).

So...... can anyone help an IT ignoramous? :?

Have a look in Tools->Pop-up Blocker->Pop-Up Blocker Settings

You should be able to add each site that you wish to allow pop-ups from. Or install Firefox.

I don't know about Trend, but on my pop-up blocker, you can override it by holding down the Ctrl key. Ie when I logon to my banksite, the login screen is in a pop-up window, just holding down the Ctrl key before it pops up allows it to appear.
I have been using Firefox lately, and it is a bit more intelligent in the number of options for pop-ups.

Clinton,

If IE is blocking the popup, there will be a small message at the top of your screen saying "popup blocked, click here for options" or some such. Click on it and it lets you choose to name that a safe site. If it is Trend Micro, I've no idea. Hope this helps.

Thanks Andrew!
Is that Tools in the IE top taskbar?
Under tools I have "Mail and news, Syncronise, Windows update, Windows messenger, show related links, Inetnet options" only.

Can't find the path you described.

In IE 6 it is there under tools and 2nd one down is popup blocker. But I use the Google Toolbar and it has a Popup Blocker button and it works very well.

Many thanks to you all! :2tsup:
