Hi all,
I've very recently pulled up the tiles in my kitchen and dining area and i'm going to sand and polish the boards. They are in fairly good nick and so far no problems. The problem comes in with the rest of the house which is polished up, now i realise that i can always give them a light sand and throw a coat on over the old stuff but i would rather get the old stuff off completelly and just do the whole house fresh, removing any bad patches and little dints that are there. This is where my dilema begins. Whats the best way to get rid of the old polish? I've tried researching this but not much at all comes my way. Once or twice polish remover has been mentioned (any thoughts on that?), or is it best to just attack it with the drum sander? If the sander is the best option then what grade paper would be required to get it down to bare timber stage?
