Hey all
After lots of lurking on the forums I finally started our reno's by ripping out the original bathroom just before crimbo. Job took a bit longer than I expected but everything is nearly there, just some grouting, a visit from the plumber to finish things off, new glass for the window and fix up the hole in the ceiling from old lighting.
Luckily my father was over from the UK and was a great help especially his experience with tiling etc. It was on his advice I bought a better tile cutter (sigma 62cm) and have to say it was great to use.
Learnt lots and looking forward to moving onto the ensuite next month but have a few questions.
1. Concrete renovators? We were told that we would need to take all the painted walls in the bathroom back to concrete using a concrete renovator before tiling. Is this really neccesary? I can understand getting something pourus for the glue but taking it all off was a bugger of a job ;) took about 4 hours or so but not what you want to be doing on crimbo eve!
2. vitrified porcelain tiles. anyone have a nice easy way of drilling holes in these puppies? :)
have included some picces, tiles were 300x300 on the floor and white gloss rectified 300x600 on the wall.
Kind regards
John
