Is there any way to enlarge someones avatar.
I have tried saving the pic and zooming but due to the small size they need to be to get on the forum, the enlarged image becomes grainy.
I have often looked at peoples avatars and wanted to have a better look at them as they are too small to see any detail.
Cheers, Jack.

Get a magnifying glass and hold it up near the screen. About the only way I know without losing resolution.

My avatars are usually around 400x400, and around 50 kb's, and they let them through no problem.

Avatars are automatically resized as are all pictures posted on the form.
Joash's avatar is 68x80 and 2.65kb in size.

Its tricky to get a good picture in there. I've found a few good photos on the net I thought were clever, but shrunk down that just look bloody stupid.
I've run out of ideas of what to put in there. I had picture of me head in there for a bit. But got tired of looking at myself.

Yeah don't worry. I didn't want a look at some of our members ugly mugs.
Some people do have interesting avatars that are wood work related:D

I think you'll find Cliff, he was after a closeup of my bearskin, just to determine what type of bear it came from. I could have told him its a very rare apricot mammoth, not a bear at all.

This 'very rare apricot mammoth' you speak of; doesn't happen to drop out of trees onto unsuspecting Homo neanderthalensis var. sepsis touristis crushing them before they have a chance to use their Châtelperronian flint knife by and chance?

Jack, you need an art programme that can resize pictures. Save the picture you want and then using your art programme, simply resize it pixel wise. :2tsup:
PM me with a particular picture and I'll see if I can do it for you.

Sorry Buzza it's not that easy if one wants to see any sort of detail.
If you are up for a challenge see if you can turn this avatar sized image http://www.thelosses.com/wood_stuff/IMG_4851psx.jpg into the same size and clarity as this (1024 x 768) one (http://www.thelosses.com/wood_stuff/IMG_4851px.jpg) which has a blanked out box in the middle. Once you get close I will show you the original without the blanked out box and we'll see how close you get.

I blew it up to 1.39MB, but it does not really show anything much more than the small one.
I think that with most things the original must be clear in the first place. The results didn't show the detail, so I'll have to think of something else.:-
