View Full Version : Collective Nouns

Hi all,
As we have such collective nouns as a coven of ravens, a frolic of otters and of course a parliament of owls. (In fact there is a collective noun for "three cows together in a lea"!) As people always want order in things, has anybody got some appropriate collective nouns for people?
Such as;
A confusion of advisors
An abberation of interest rates
A school of bankers
A thong of Brazilian beach goers?

Hi all,
A thong of Brazilian beach goers?
Wouldn't "A thong of birds on a Brazilian beach" be better?

Hi Rich,
Yeah I had to think about that one. Have to careful not to "genderize" and also, its not just the birds that thong.:oo: . Some things just aren't meant to be seen in public.
