So what was wrong with pushing the cork into the bottle just like every student learns to do.:D

Can't say I've ever drilled out a cork or opened a can with a hammer and chisel, but a 14gauge hex head roofing screw driven into a cork (broken or otherwise) makes it real easy to pull out with a pair of multi grips and cutting the rim off a can is almost as fast and neat with a pair of aviation snips as with a good can opener.:cool:

I wouldn't risk a good chisel on something that can be done with a kitchen knife.

I've tried an Axe on a tin, the tin sort-of won as the axe wasn't very sharp, but the tin was very bent. So I changed over to my Gerber Mk.2 and we all ate.

It was a long drive to the nearest town for a tin opener:rolleyes:
