After starting my renovation business I've needed to really start analysing my time spent on jobs. I've done a fair bit of painting now and when you break down times, a pretty small part of my time seems to be spent actually rolling. Most of it seems to be in prep work and the biggest time eater, cutting in.
I reckon very little of my time is spent actually getting paint onto the roller and don't forget you now have to fill up the power roller as well which is significantly more difficult than pouring paint into the roller tray...
Money would be much better spent buying big roller trays, good quality roller covers that hold a lot of paint and good solid adjustable extension poles.
IMHO they are a bit of a gimick. Lets face it, if they were a big time saver all the tradies would be using them.

I was given one as a gift some time ago, the concept sounded good but in the long run it took far more time than the conventional method and far less mucking around, these days while I'm merrily paiting the wagner sits on a shelf high up in the workshop and well out of my way
