hello people
merry crissy to you all
in in a bit of a spot, the minister of war and finance wants 2 new doors put on the front and side of house, the problem is they are both exposed to the late morning/afternoon elements (sun and rain when it does )
so what im after is some info on what sort of clear finish i could use on them.
i did think of an oil but im a bit lazy when it comes to follow ups 12 months down the track
if anyone could help me out it would be a big help
thanks heaps
and again be safe over the silly season :D

I've gotten good performance with spar varnish. Name comes from sailboat spars, and they get pretty rough treatment from weather.

This has survived for a couple years without additional attention:

Maddog,
checkwith the door manufacturer with regards to suitable finishes in this situation. If you do not apply a finish that complies with their specifications on all six surfaces of the door they will not honour any warranty claims.
