I have to say that Test match Cricket hasn't been the same since they started covering the pitch overnight during a match.:(

What has happened at the WACA? Is it that stupid game they play in winter that's caused the monster change to the pitch?

I read in the paper yesterday that the curator is saying that the test strip (#4 strip apparently) will play more like a traditional Perth wicket. Lets hope so.

One of the great sites in cricket is a fast bowler steaming in and getting the ball to lift off a good length. If Strauss is still opening it'll be interesting to see how he handles a bit of Brett Lee "chin music". :D

Not sure if Lee is up to it. He's a skidder, not a bouncer. :(

No, they are whinging that most of their team (the Poms) have Seppo ancestry, which explains why they appear to have no earthly WHAT they're doing. :D

But seriously, the MCG Boxing Day Test is a ritual, don't you remember the hullabaloo when they replaced it with a one dayer? Its in a Melbournian's blood to frighten the life out of the East Melbourne residents on Boxing Day, not to mention wear out the bar staff at the MCG Hotel.:) Rest assured, there will be no loss or quarter given to the "Old Enemy".
Hey just think, I can take my own small part of the old Southern stand this year for luck.

They send themselves in on a wicket that will have nothing in it after tea today, get themselves out for half what the Poms would expect, let them get 400 or so, then send them in with a day and a half to get 200, then crush the life out of them.

(That's the plan anyway!)
