O.K. its's on tomorrow so time to get the ball rolling on the first Test thread of the summer.

Now that Tait's out of the squad, who do we play, Clark or Johnson?

Is it just me or is modern cricket lacking in those on field characters?

With Watson out Clark will have to play, if Watson plays then I reckon they go for Tait or Johnson, unless its Sydney or Adelaide - then Gorilla gets a go.

Watson is out and Clarke is filling the no.6.

Tait is out of the squad. (I wish people would read the posts  )

So the final bowling position is between Clark (no e) and Johnson.

Nob head :p

Yes Watson is out, and with Watson out (Tait was let go today) then either Clark (no frickin E) or Johnson will play. My selection is for Clark as a steady stock bowler rather than Tait (who was let go today) or Johnson, both of whom are more tearaway than stock. I made no mention of Clarke (with an E - that was decided last week)

If Watson was in, then I was saying they wouldn't pick Clark (no frickin E) because they have the luxury of a fifth bowler and I reckon would have gone for either Tait (who wouldn't have been let go today) or Johnson
:D

Or for the linguistically challenged - One watson out, two clarks in

Andy Mac

I heard Tait is in, playing this Saturday night for the Kangaroos.:p
Is Johnson deemed too much of a tearaway, like Lee was when he first appeared? At least I haven't heard him boast that all he wants to do is break the 160kmh mark.
Roll on tomorrow... and this isn't a bad site if you're stuck at the desk:D

1) Why is this thread in "Nothing At All To Do With Woodwork", and not in the "TEST" forum???

2) If they let Clark (with a frickin e) play, who will be they find to carry the drinks without spillin' 'em?

In the spirit of the quote 'The bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey', there was of course the moment of rhyming dismissal:
'Lillee ct Willey b Dilley'

So if we bring DKL back, I say that we need Graham Dilley and Peter Willey to complete the cast....

Nasser Hussain is in the middle and giving his pitch report. It's about 29 degrees and an 8mph wind coming from the north. The surface is dry and there are cracks on it, and the consensus is that the pitch will play well for a couple of days before the cracks open up, and thereafter there will be uneven bounce for the quick men ... not to mention what Warne will do.
