So windy here it would just about blow a dog off its chain.

If you burn your ar $e then you will be the only one sitting on the blisters.

And a Toast from my college days

"Here's to it those who do it
May they get to it to do it again." :D:D

- followed immediately by

"Here's to it to those who don't do it
May they get to it to do it" ;);)

Said to me by a parent of a child in my class: " he was told last year that he could not remember anything.... and he's never forgotten that."

Richard, it was Douglas Bader.

Here's an appropriate one for the newbies:

The fool wonders, the wise man asks.- Benjamin Disraeli

Here is a personal favourite.

A very senior hot and sweaty Marine stomps into the Officers Mess in Darwin during an exercise. As he approaches the bar he says quite loudly "this place is the a**ehole of the earth".

The youngest amd most junior officer in the bar turns around on his stool and says "Just passing through then sir?"

Douglas Bader eh? Would you believe that he is genuinely one of my heros? Makes me love the quote even more. Thanks for that (and Driver who also gave the correct reference)

My Dad loves the 'blind man' quote. He's also on record with ...

"when my father first heard that, the tears rolled down his bib"

(in reference to old jokes)

One of the aussie batsmen during the Holding era (heard about a year ago during an interview but I can't remember who it was).

The line went something like this:
The umpire asked me where I wanted the sight screen. I said, 'anywhere between me and him'.

If I were you, I'd prefer to keep my mouth closed and be thought of as a fool rather than open it and prove it.

He/She has a mouth like a 24 hour cafe.

It is easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them.

Love thy neighbor as thyself, but choose your neighborhood.

Bigot: One who is obstinately and zealously attached to an opinion that you do not entertain.

Egoist: A person of low taste, more interested in themselves than in me.

I either want less corruption, or more chance to participate in it.

And at risk of a flaming:

My notion of a wife at forty is that a man should be able to change her, like a bank note, for two twenties.;)
