I had an attack on my computer while online last night and Norton came to the rescue.
I know, I know :o, my own fault for looking at stuff I know full well I shouldnt have been looking at. :o :o :o :o
But...
Norton did its job and stopped them from out there, from taking over my computer.
I did all the usual, total virus scan, Spybot (http://www.spybot.info/) search, and CleanUp (http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/) Scan after the attack and nothing.

we've been trying to update our norton subscription but the renewal site keeps saying it has no record of us!!!! Despite norton itself reminding us to resubscribe!!! Very &%$#@@# annoying as we now dont have updates since the subscription ran out yesterday...

So..........Al............how's everything? (whistle, whistle, whistle)
Here's the deal;
I'm stuck in a motel room in Tamworth with naught but the intermanet to keep me company tonight. I need links to the stuff that you shouldn't have been looking at, all except for the last one. :p
Thanks in advance.

I used to use Norton but found that it embedded itself into the operating system more than any virus did.. a real PITB trying to uninstall it.
I use AVAST now, free and unobtrusive.

I've been using Vet for many years. Every computer we buy at work has Norton bundled with the operating system and is a complete pita to uninstall when we have used up the 3 months free and want to put in our site licence Vet. Vet just sits there doing its job, never stuffing up the outgoing emails or denying attachments if it thinks they're suss, and we haven't had a virus yet.
Not that we know there's been an attack unless we look at the log, Norton trumpets its own importance evertime a worm pokes its head up!!!!
Cheers

Would love Norton
An 850 Commando would be nice, mate had a 750 with a Seely frame handled like magic.
Just keep the othe Norton away from my computer, to intrusive and a pain to sort out the probs it has with other apps.

Dunno Benny,
I knew a bloke who had an 850. He used to spend an hour each Saturday morning tightening up all the nuts that had rattled loose thru the week. :D The thing used to shake something fierce whilst idling. Sounded good though.

Thread Hijacking our speciality:D :D :D
Norton is ok if you stick to it but when other apps start to fight it can be a hassle with a reload the only way out at times. Hence I don't like using it.
As for the new Trumpets, they just don't look right, give me an old one.
Remember the Hurricane? What a ripper:D :D :D
