Some interesting but cool facts...
A crocodiles tongue is connected to the roof of its mouth.
A kangaroo can't hop unless its tail is touching the ground.
A shark can regrow a new set of teeth in one week.
A whales heart only beats nine time per minute.
A starfish can turn itself inside out.
Anyone have anymore?????

Women can't BBQ steaks
Is that an oddity? I thought it was a rule. :D
Perhaps it is a rule that was deemed necessary due to the oddity.

Perhaps not an oddity but it's an interesting fact. Scientific tests have proven that the ability to use a BBQ is attached to the Y chromosome.
It's like finding stuff in drawers. That's an X chromosome skill so women can do it twice as well as men because they get 2 of them.
Loading dishwashers isn't attached to either. They just can't do it properly 'cos they's women. :D :D

Here's a less contentious one:-
On average, human beings (of whatever chromosonal content) have fewer than two legs.

Here's a more contentious one (tested at many a barbecue and found to be generally true):-
Most blokes - no matter where they find themselves, can instinctively and relatively accurately point North.
Most women can't.
It's got to do with the difference between hunter/gatherers and nest-builders, apparently. ;)

Not true.
When I am asked to point out north, I do so and am abruptly told that I am incorrect by the usual company that asks.
That being Mrs. Schtoo, Mrs. Schtoo's sister and Mrs. Schtoo's mother.
3 against 1 means I am wrong, right?
(No comment about finding fundamental orifices using pictures of landmasses and magnetic direction finding equipment is mentioned either, of course. )

You're not wrong but consider the following in the context of Zen philosophy:-
If a man is alone in a forest and he speaks and no woman is present to hear him, is he still wrong?

Yes, apparently. She will tell me in due course I am sure.

If they are so sure where North is why ask you. Obviously they are not sure and need the help of a man, hence numbers against you are irrelevant.

Contentious but true. When the army started taking women into broader roles, they had to change the way they taught navigation, because generally speaking, women navigate differently to men. (And yes, women are generally speaking!:D )

What is a nymph?
My five year old son has a home reader that is called 'Amazing Crickets'
In it is described the life cycle of a cricket. It explains the reproduction of crickets and calls baby crickets nymphs.
My wife suggested that if she is a fan of nymphs does that make her a nymph-omaniac???
I choked on my dinner and fell off my chair when she said this.

Candles?
What on earth do candles have to do with anything?
Throw lights into the same pot while we are there.

We have trouble on the ANZAC Frigates as well, when a woman is on the consoles they want to turn the displays around to face the way they are going, just like they do with Melways/Gregorys etc:D :D :D

I've never seen a kangaroo hop.
Then again I've never seen a one legged kangaroo, but I imagine that it would need it's tail to help it hop.
They can jump without their tails touching the ground though.

I'm sure I remember watching a documentary on TV years ago that featured a tail-less roo, moving along at a pretty fair speed alongside a 4-wheel drive at night. The particular 'roo obviously didn't need a tail to allow it to jump or hop.
Might have been one of Albie Mangles' docos - although I don't recall any good-looking girls in the show - so that rules out Albie.

Ahh, but if the kangaroo jumped through the windscreen of the 4wd (with or without assistance of the crew), then it might well have been old Albie.
Where is he and what is he doing now?
Still speaking in monotones I suppose...

Albie Mangles... So thats why the 'Roo had no tail.
Last I saw of Albie was earlier this year giving hints on how 65+ year olds could change tyres on a 4WD whilst stuck in the bush. Seem to rememeber he had some all singing, all dancing device for doing it.
Also saw a doco where he and Belinda Green met up again after all these years. You might remember she provided the sex appeal for his Asian adventure. She certainly wanted to distance herself from him this time through though.
