I want to connect a windows xp laptop to my mac running osx. I was told to get a USB crossover cable, which I did. I got a USB2.0 Netlink, which supposedly is 480 Mb/s, but I'm stymied. I installed the driver in the PC laptop from the CD that came with it, and tried plugging the two computers together and ... zilch. What do I do? Is this the kind of thing you can do if you've never connected two computers together before, or do you have to have a certificate in computer networking? I want to be able to transfer files between the two.
Just and indication: ''tell 'im 'es dreaming", or "all you have to do is click x", would be nice.

If all that fails, download Remote Desktop from Microsoft Mactopia, and follow the directions!
I can't remember all that nasty network setting stuff for the PC, but remote desktop has got me over it a few times.
Cheers,
