Good to see the boys are starting to put on some form in the one dayers.

Null Zuland didn't really get into the swing of things last night but at least held on for a while after being blown away early. Ouw Ahhh Glen McGrath:D :D :D

Warnie is also travelling well. We are into November so it's all that much closer.

Looks like the Poms will be crying in their beer this time:D :D :D Hope they don't punch out any barmen:p :p :D Fav? always a loose canon, but thats what ya get when you play for Carrrrrrrrlllllllllllllllllllllton;)

Remind me, who's got these ashes right now? Did I hear Qantas flew them somewhere in a 747 - just the ashes? You guys! Pining for Friday already?

All out for 206 after 46 overs. (from memory)

bennylaird
2nd November 2006, 09:43 AM
:D All out for 200 in the 46th over I think.

The Ashes are in Sydney, seems strange the Poms ever let them go, never give them too us when we win them.:p

They only have the title by luck, won't be able to doctor the pitches here:D :D :p

MurrayD99

All out for 206. A valiant, courageous, determined stand full of pluck & professionalism against overwhelming odds, hot sun, dry earth, bad beer....

I enjoy watching a game of cricket.

Watching the grass grow on TV is most amusing. :D I just hope that people will stop running on it. :D

The Poms play the PM XI in Canberra at Manuka Oval on Friday this week. Should be good to see the old dart whimper and fart.....

The ashes just might be a bit of a non event this time around.

Never seen them so upset over a bit of sledging, seems they all have had a bit of a cry, and now have a number to ring if the big bad Aussies say nasty stuff about them.

G'day,

Not long until the ashes?

What got burnt?

A mind numbingly boring game imported over here by the Poms. :p Should've kept it over there, that and warm beer! :D

bennylaird

Have a jug Waldo, you don't have to watch, besides seeing the Poms in pain is a pitiful sight.

Crumbs if their big tough footballyers get upset over really clever blokes like Willy Mason calling 'em names in the footy, just imagine how badly their knights in white flannel will fare! (Nice defence though - "pre-emptive retaliation!" I'll be George Bush wishes he'd thought of that.)

Oh, and Waldo be careful.... you're still young enough to live long enough to regret all those summers when you didn't "get" it.

G'day Bittingmidge,

Young enough? I was too young to realise what a dumb game it was, then I later I wized up. ;)

Only 2 weeks to go.........................

Andy Mac

Nice defence though - "pre-emptive retaliation!"

Is that what he called it!?:D Probably closer to that than a "king hit" as reported in the media. I mean a king hit from where I come from you don't know its coming, usually from behind.... and here are these fellas hanging off each other collars trying a bit of rough stuff!! One of them has to swing first.
Anyway, back to the cricket and sledging, apparently the Indian team weren't happy with the verbal either! Maybe they have some justification for complaint when their head honcho gets man-handled out of the way by Martin, but it could have been worse. Imagine if Big Willie was in the team!!:D :D

Cheers,

mmmm seems like the glue didnt have time to set on the bails ...and this is the PMs 11 maybe let them play a state side to give them a chance.
I hope they at least try and play cricket so I have something to watch.

Seems they are continuing on with their fine form even when they play 14 a side?

bennylaird
13th November 2006, 11:55 AM
Ahhh I see they are just foxing us?

They are going to actually start to play when the Ashes kicks off:cool:

Good otherwise the non cricket lovers on here could call it boring to see them fall over themselves to leave the pitch as batters and their bowlersspend days being pasted all over the place.:D :D

They are almost as good at acting as the soccer players are when they take a dive:D :p :p :p

Tried to watch that game but the association with our PM was too distressing.
I'd object to being picked by him for anything.

At least Hawk had a go, even if he kept getting hit on the head and needing new glasses:D :D :D

Had to happen, first Pom is already off to be counselled.

Correction - I was wrong, it happened pre tour........

http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/australia/content/story/267740.html

Nasty comment put him over the edge? Thought they would be able to handle being called stupid???? Really.

Still not in the spirit of the game and I don't approve of racial taunts. Fair enough to have a go a bad fielding etc.

Wonder if they will stop us calling the umpy a white maggot at the footy? (Even if he's orange?)

What got burnt?

It was long believed that the real Ashes – a small urn thought to contain the ashes of a bail used in the third match (1882) – were presented to Bligh by a group of Melbourne women. In 1998, Lord Darnley’s 82-year-old daughter-in-law said they were the remains of her mother-in-law’s veil, not a bail. Other evidence suggests a ball. The certain origin of the Ashes, therefore, is the subject of some dispute.

Bring it on :D

I cant wait till the cricket starts.... I have told my wife when I get my shed up the small tele is coming out there with me so I can keep an eye on the tests while playing in my new domain....
she reckons she will never see me again, perhaps she is right? well at least until the season is over and whenever I get hungry.... ;)

Monty Panesar's useless,
A poor old English chap,
And when he's not spin bowling,
No fan will ever clap.
He's useless in the covers,
He's useless in the slips,
And when he straps the pads on,
He'll pass out with the yips.
