Clue 1 - the picture attached is the lead singer of a "super group" that rose to fame in the 70's - who is he?. Sorry no prize as I am still unemployed.

Whoever he is, he looks like he has seen better days. If the young lady in the background is with him, though, he must still have something.

Yes it's called MONEY Sea Dragon;).

Sorry but I cannot make the picture bigger without losing the clarity of the image - that is the way it came. Have you guys heard of glasses:D.

I assume you meant The Sweet?:). Unfortunately the lead singer - Brian Connolly (aged 52) died in 1997. The other co-founder of the group - Michael Tucker (aged 54) died 5 years later:(.

Hi Duckman,

I placed super group in "inverted commers" because they are in some people's eyes (critics) a "super group". Yes he is still alive although by the picture he is only just;):D.

Time for another clue given no one has come near to getting it:-

The band has developed a loyal following and another member of the group who's off-stage antics (which has included a few marriages and a heart attack in his mid 20's) have ensured they have never dropped out of the public eye.

Btw, the picture was taken in the past fortnight.

Did that at the outset. If you try it, you'll see that the image becomes too pixellated and so it doesn't really help.

No one is big over here are they:D. They were big in America & Europe and that is what counts in this World. The Skyhooks, Mundo Rock etc were never big anywhere apart from Australia:p.

Jon had big hits around the world with other artists as well, such as Vangellis.

However, well done to CraigB for putting us out of our misery;).

Btw, the other artist mentioned by I was of course Rick Wakeman.

The Wednesfield postman Phil Reade presented the star with a signed football from his favourite team Accrington Stanley to wish him many happy returns.

Most village idiots liked them. I did not, although that does not necessarily mean I am not the village idiot. Anyway, I could never have told you the name of one of their members, lead singer or not.

Was "Yes" the group that sang "Yes, we have no bananas"? If so, the time is ripe for a re-release.:D

Missed this thread......sod. :( I do enjoy a good guessing game....

Can we extend it? I'll make a submission. Be warned though.....it won't be easy.

Ahem....

The picture below is of the lead singer of a band that started in the '70s, but enjoyed their greatest successes in the '80s. They were an Aussie band, who were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame last night.
The band's name has two words, and if you rearrange some letters, you can get the words "Midnihgt Oil"

Any takers?
