GST BAS or Income?

I finished my GST BAS for the quarter yesterday & it is set to pay online Monday.

I don't have to do my income Tax til early next year.

Did mine last Tuesday and posted this morning. :D

I expect a nill assessment and no refund to me so why hurry?

Nope, all done and refund received - albeit not as much as I would have liked. Just don't start me on the rates of tax though :(

so soon?? - I've only just got my cheque back for the last three years - but I'm determined to do better this time - "It WILL happen before end of March this time!!" says she with gritted teeth.

G'day,

Organised to get my tax done by H&R on Wenesday gone and I'll do my BAS tomorrow so that SWMBO can transfer the money to the Tax Dept.

I did it in march or april, I think. On time too. :p

The taxes are an absolute killer here, I don't know how anyone survives... :confused:

Unless...

You are self employed/own business. ;)


I think it was about 5% income tax for two of us last year. :D

Should be able to squeeze that down or make it a negative number. :rolleyes:

(But company tax is scary. I really don't know how they get on... :eek: )

When Japan first bought in its GST they allowed small businesses with turnover of less than about $300,000 pa to collect the tax but keep it for themselves. This may have changed since I was living there (1988/89).

Small businesses and farmers very powerful lobby groups in Japan.
