As a new member could i please call on the wealth of knowledge out there on this problem? I have just finished a tallboy constructed out of euro beech, now the the fun starts on which finish to use.
My ideal look is to have a satin to Matt which will not darken the beech at all,has anyone tried Cabot's crystal clear at all and whether to use a sanding sealer or not and then there is the oil's and wax................ ALL info most appreciated.

I like to use a grain filler (some of UBeaut's talc and White Shellac with some pure meths), liberally doshed on then lightly sanded after about 24 hrs.

My preference for a sheen is to use Danish Oil, at least four coats thereof rubbed down with 1200 W&D lubricated with D/O between coats, then a good run with EEE then trad wax.
