View Full Version : Can't include attachments

I've just tried to post some pics and can't include attachments. When I click on 'Manage Attachments' the box flicks on momentarily and then vanishes. A similar thing happens with another site when I try to open their message box.

I recently had a HDD crash and the repairer had to reinstall windows. I suspect that he's blocked popups or something. Can any of you gurus out there tell me if I'm on the right track, and how to get back to normal, please.

If you go IE7 it may inherit your IE6 settings.

Why not give FireFox a try?

While you're at it, try Thunderbird for your emails, great spam filters!
Cheers

I'd prefer to try it without changing browsers if possible. Experience has shown that changing software is rarely without tears.

Haven't been able to fix the problem so far, despite completely removing pop-up blocking. Any help gratefully received.

Hi AlexS.

It's because you're new.

Newbies aren't allowed to attach images. Sorry - Forum rules.

Welcome, BTW.

Welll FF is pretty painless to install.

Basically; download, run the install program and you're done.

From memory it also asks if you want to import your IE Favourites.

Go on, live dangerously. ;) :D

Jeez, thanks Brendan.:D

I've managed to get around the problem by turning off the pop-up blocker under the address bar. I'd previously turned it off in the security settings, but this didn't do the job. Guess I'll wait & see how many pop-ups I get now.

Hi Alex

Is there a setting to only allow pop-ups for this site only?

cheers

Yes, you can only allow pop ups from selected sites, under the privacy settings. I tried that, but it didn't make any difference.

attachments are woking for me now.

It was funny, I made a thread, put in attachmets, it loaded foever, and then come up with the normal error message, anyway, I just clicked submit the thread, had a look at it, when it was loaded, and there the attachment was. Since then, it has never put up the error message.

Note: that was only 1 hour ago.
