Not a complaint, just an observation.

Since the move to the new server, i'm getting intermittant timeouts. The connection hangs. It just went again for several minutes and i came back to a message saying the Forum was busy, try again later. It connected staright away after that.

Yeah, I've copped a few as well. Mainly at 18:30 or thereabouts though. Maintenance?

Hi

Looks like everything went fine tonight. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days and make sure this is a permanent solution.

cheers

Nope, not when you can have 3 other windows open working flat out at other sites & this one is dead in the water. :(

Yeh I have the same problem I usually just log back on without any probs.

Just happened again. I click on a thread to open it gets highlighted but instead of opening it just ttimes out. This time I couldnt even log back on. I had to close down IE then start again. this is very regular since the upgrade.

It has been working flawlessly for me lately. Whatever Cyc did fixed my probs at least. http://www.woodworkforums.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

if it only happens with some threads, it might be best to open them in a new window:)

Cliff Rogers

I open everything in a new window except replies.... some times I can have 8 or 9 windows open at once & it works fine, other times I can't even get one to work.

I use opera, and open every thread in a new tab, I then read it, close it then go to the next tab.

Ever since I joined up as Mr. Boyton/Joash, I have had problems, whenever I click on "New posts", it comes up wuth jumbled up everything, with bits of coding hanging out. Also, I have tried to make a thread on a project, and I cannot upload photos.

Auzzie turner never had any problems, Is it just Joash having these problems?

Still getting this. Today at around 18:33 was "timed out" or had several "server too busy" messages. Only lasted for about 4 minutes though...

It went for a nice long lie down just after 9pm tonight, I took 4 loads of junk out of the car & 2 loads of rubbish out to the wheelie bin before it would talk to me again.

Strange, there was a load slight spike around 6:30pm but nothing out of control at 9pm.

Did you get an error message? eg. database error or 404 error?

Cliff Rogers
25th October 2006, 11:45 PM
Nope, just this....
The page cannot be displayed

Then it was all good til about 10:36 & it did it again.

PS. It just happened again while I was editing this message to fix the formatting & this is the only forum window I have open at this time.

I made a few more config changes on the database server at 10:30am.

If you get any errors, especially between 6:30 and 7pm at night let me know.

Shortly after I logged in @ around 18:30, the first thing I did was reply to a PM, then when I did a "search for new posts" things were very sluggish. When I finally managed to refresh the page I found I was logged out! :(

Apart from that all has been working well.

A while ago I saw a utility for Firefox that captured and logged these errors. These logs would be very useful for this type of fault finding. Unfortunately I can't find the darn thing now  . Anyone?
