Philip Glass was one of the originators on 'minimalist' music, and his stype relies strongly on repetition...

Sorry Steve, goes back a lot further than that but not in so much the repetitious style, some composers used a continual single note drone which is attributed to the same style, Glass can and does use the same one bar repetition as what he describes as to create a hypnotic state to listeners of his 'music'.
Glass' repetition can run for hours and some of his compositions take days to perform.
Unfortunately it does not do it for me.

Knocking on glass? :confused:
Seems odd to me. According to the music I enjoy, you have to;
"Knock knock knock on wood! Oooooooooo baby! Oooo Ooo Ooo Oooooo. BABY! Oooo Ooo Oo Ooooooo"
More appropriate too. This is a wood forum, guys....;)
Wongo? :D:p
