I'll be in WA for the last week or so of October for a bit of a look around.

Plan is to see the south west, driving from Perth to Bunbury (where I used to live as a kid)
Which is the better (more scenic) route? The coast road or inland through Pinjarra?
Time permitting, I'll do the trip from Bunbury to Albany. Any suggestions as to timber related things to see?

If your coming from the Airport, if you go from Armadale down through Pinjara, considerable nicer.....(my opinion anyway)
If you come down the Kwinana Freeway south through Mandurah, you have lots of cars, construction of train line, ripping up our entire freeway system & making hazards everywhere, at least until you're past Mandurah...its a s h i t face for traffic in Peak hour....go long way around like via London....'
Good luck....Mandurah foreshore & town centre is beautiful but caotic....don't travel in peak hour times and you will be allright.
good luck:cool:
Kind regards Kerry

Have a look at the big gallery in Pemberton, also at Peter Kovacsy's gallery in Jamieson St Pemberton. Have a look at the woodwork school and info centre at Dwellingup.

Since Geoff is coming from Sydney I dont think he will have a issue with the 'peak hour' traffic in Mandurah. (just a thought)

I was lucky enough to be in WA when the wild flowers were in flower and I have to say it was and hopefully still is spectacular! Shark Bay was good and Monkey Mia is an incredible experience.

Also travelled through the Maragret River area. Nice wines and some very friendly folk.

Both sites already on the list :)
The last time I was in Dwellingup, there wasn't much left. This was just after the 1961 bushfire.
