I used to like it, pre upgrade, when the forums list and thread lists said "1 hour ago" or "10 minutes ago", for the latest post, rather than just a date and time stamp. Is that gone for good, is it able to be switched back on, or has this been raised before and I should just go away?

It's gone for good. The Forum Gods have mandated it so.
Praise the Forum Gods.
