Im looking to get an alarm system installed into the house before the plaster is in etc and was wondering if anyone can recommend any alarm systems or companies that they have had experience with.

cheers

Hi Cobber

I've had a couple of alarm systems and the only one that has not had any false alarms has been the Clipsal Homesafe. I found it to be very robust and reliable. It has a dialer built in so it can call you mobil etc. and you can access it remotely if required.

The only thing it lacks is Internet (IP) access ... but not many have that yet.

Looks good easy to install.

Since it is only a house, go with either a soloution or an NX-16. If it was a factory etc: go with a tecom.

The soloution is better, and easier to handle.

Go with signature security.

And for those that are wondering, my dad is a security technician, so I am familiar with these things,

Try Valet in Tullamarine. I have installed 2 systems from them without too much trouble or installation can be done for you
Frank Vella is most helpful if you have any problems and can organise monitoring if you want that. I have been more than happy with the company he uses for monitoring - $1-00 a day plus GST
Phone no is 9338-9344
PM me if you want to discuss this

I would agree with Joash. I would also consider a concept 1000. I have installed lots of these and find them to be very versatile and reliable.

As for a Tecom in the house, they are more industrial but also the ducks nuts of alarm systems, if you want to pay a little extra you can fully automate your house with one of these... I have one in my home :D
