Been nice sharing time and ideas but time to move on.
Have fun and take time to relax a bit. Don't let your sense of humour get you down.

Grow up benny. You're not a kid so why act like a spoilt brat when you are asked to step in line and get rid of the filth. Your last avatar was very clever but unwarranted and drew many complaints.
If you feel you must leave then so be it. Go play in the sand pit with the rest of the sad, pathetic, dummy-spitters or you could choose to be a man, stay and continue to join in the fun. It's your choice, no one is forcing you either way. However if you leave these forums with the final grandiose farewell as you have here you will not be allowed back. I for one am getting a bit sick of the dummy-spitters, as I'm sure are many others. There will be no more resurrected dummy-spitters allowed back here after they have done the deed.
Best you think about it before making the decision. The forums will continue to grow and go on with or without you and your input.
You have 24 hours to decide if you will go or stay. Best you let us know in this thread or it's goodbye for ever.

FWIW Benny, most of us have had a "moment" or two ('cept me ;) ). Truth is, we forget to play the "post" and not the man sometimes. Don't take things personally, the worse anyone can do here is hurl pixels at you. Stick around.
EDIT: I should clarify that, Neil can hurt you, he has the Finger of God (FOG) and can erase us. You don't wanna be FOGGED by Neil.

My sense of humour will not change, that's who I am.
An avatar such as the one I used yesterday was a joke and I can see where it may be considered over the top. I hade removed it after the member who I was attampting to humour saw it. Putting it back on last night was wrong and due to a bit too much red wine and I logged on this morning to remove it.
Being labelled as a purveyor of obscene material suitable only for sites is something I take offence too, especially for the second time. Being asked to step into line is all that was needed rather than an attack on my character.
I may be seen as being precious but I'm definately not one of the forunners in here.
I would like to remain and share what goes on as I am able to learn and contribute. The fact that at times I feel I'm just having fun with some great mates and acting as if we were joking around the BBQ obviously upsets those who must go into a clearly labelled thread of "Nothing to do with Woodwork" so they can then complain and whinge is a problem, but who for? It reminds me of a RAAFie in Malaysia who was hit by a rock because he had to go down to the riots to see what was going on.
I'll return with tail between my legs but will not cotinue to be labelled a lord.
I'm been around to long to get up, log on and get a kick in the guts just cos I find somethings funny and post it.
Understand your sick of dummy spits but they don't just happen without provocation.
Anyway look forward to keeping in touch with those great mates I have met on here.

Didn't miss much, I renamed Felders avatar slightly with a similar word.
The rest is just differing points of view as to the way we carry on on friday.
I can't, for the life of me, see how it warranted advice that I should move to a site for my humour but guess everyone sees things differently.

I feel that this forum is such a valuable resource that is would be disastrous if it degenerated into petty squabbles about the limits of what is acceptable. I have offended myself on occasion and have had posts deleted. But I welcome this, as a sign that the forum owners are maintaining standards as they see fit. Their judgement as to the limits of what is acceptable may not always coincide with mine; but I am more than willing to accept that the effort that they put in to make this arguably the best woodworking forum in the world demands our respect. I can readily sympathize with their impatience with dummy spits.

I enjoy Bennys humour as much as anyone else and dont want him to go..
But.
There is humour and there is humour, and a line has to be drawn.
Which if you read the forum rules, already states what can and cant be posted.
Just imagine if you will, a forum where there is no moderation and anything goes, hatefull posts, and utter filth, people just posting what they want, because they can.
There are forums out there that cater for such stuff Im sure.
But It aint going to happen here, trust me.:)
The drivel I enjoy..

I agree with this. I know this recent spat isn't any of my business and I'm not referring to it, but I've noticed a type of "forum rage" that occurs sometimes. I can't imagine anything that anyone says on this forum invoking some sort of rage in me that makes me go off. I mean, it's mainly anonymous, and the others don't know you all that well, so how can what they say sting so much?
It's a lot like road rage in that, when it happens to you, the first thing you do is wonder what it was that was so outrageous about your driving that it agitated an idiot to the stage of blowing their horn and sticking fingers up and so on. You can get the "bird" here in QLD for not moving over to the left fast enough so that the bloke with the tats driving the old Ford can get up behind the next car in the right hand lane.
I think it's obvious that it says more about the agitator than the people he or she blames.

Oh god no, not forum rage!
Rossluck, while I can see your point, I don't want to see everyone avoid a good old fashioned heated argument based on conflicting points of view.;)
I don't think anyone should take "it" personally if you are disagreed with, but you should have an open right of reply to consicely and directly state your point of view if you disagree - and I hope without being accused of "forum rage".
When on the Pacific motorway I like to drive "like a granny" when I see my tatooed ford mates!:D :p
In summary - :) stop taking it personally and get over it :)

Hey Benny ... Don't dummy spit.
I like red or three myself some (allright most) nights and while it's easy to say (and regret sometimes) the wrong thing around a group of mates, it's OK as they forget about in about enough time that it takes to pour a nuthery. But as I have found out when sending an email .... it's there in writing and if the wrong person gets hold of it it's there for good.
Neil has a certain responsibility for this forum, (read could be sued) and he's "given" it to us. Surely your CO got up you once or twice ... did you hold a grudge then? You can see how you're liked here ... don't let the few turkeys get you down.
BTW when were you in Butterworth?
We all (well most of us anyway) have swag of time for those who want to have a bit of fun and to test the boundaries but most don't have time for dummy spitters.
Cheers ... keep on

I would like to apologize for my behaviour, I definately over-reacted to being reprimanded for my action. On reflection, thanks Al, using the word I did could have easily offended if an inquistive mind did want to source it's meaning. And it's meaning is definately nothing iwould have anything to do with. Like a lot of words it can be trivialised, for example calling some one a silly bugger when you consider what that actually means. I did not intend it to be anything more than a silly line and only put it one for a few minutes to stir up Felder. I then removed it, however made the mistake of dropping it back on later after a few reds.
I was offened by my reprimand and over reacted as I said before, thanks Neil and Al for making me see I was acting like a spoilt brat.
Hope to continue on with much more care in what I post as I'm not the type to have a hard feeling against anyone, even if they do follow soccer, or bag the Pies or in others ways have opinions I do agree with.
Maybe I'm with Clifton?
I'm not dead yet?
Cheers and again sorry for causing all the fuss.
