Was reading a post at UKworkshops (http://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11893&highlight=) where they have small blocks to place posts into. Has anyone seen these for sale in Melbourne anywhere.

If you want to post a post, click on the post a post button, and the block for posting posts will become active - at no charge to you ;)
I'm sure UKworkshops have buttons for providing small blocks to place posts in as well like we do here

Why the hell would ya do that?
Just dig a hole and set some concrete around ya post.
The "shoes" have to move over time, so you will have to re-do them.

I dont know about blocks under the posts but we use steel stirrups unless were posting stumps for a house then the 4x4 just goes down the hole onto a flat peice of 6x6x1 at the bottom of the hole slathered in Creosole and backfilled
