hmm, know it is there somewhere:confused:, can't loacte a solenoid, is there an easy way of doing this, besides digging up the yard:mad:.

No need to dig up the back yard to find them, just sit down and feel where the discomfort is, thats where your solenoids are.

The solenoid is most likely to be close to the beginning of the run of distribution pipe that it controls. If you can trace backwards along the pipe you will most likely find it, and it should not be buried too deep.

Hope this means you don't have to dig up the back yard!

If you don't find the solinoid you might find Gold, Oil, Opals, water etc etc:D

:eek: sitting on solenoids? no thanks, my plumbing works fine. As far as Oil, gold, may have a kidney problem and find precious stones:D. WIll try and locate as Woodsprite suggested. Thanks for humour and info ppl

Saw a neighbour doing this only about a month back
Hired a metal/gold detector for a w/e amd found about a dozen lost solenoids in a couple of hours.

But there is a gadget that they can attach at the timer end of things that causes the solenoids to "chatter" ( turn off and on rapidly) and you can locate then by the noise. If you're after one only you might be able to get someone to do the old manual chatter (touching the wire to the contact) while you're out listening where you think it should be.

Thanks for the advice, have a friend that has a chatter controller, have finally located the missing solenoids.
