One good thing about this forum is it always comes up in google when you do a search for something. I noticed now that its changed and I searched for something on google and a link to this forum came up...the google link doesnt work because of the changes. This is a bit of a pain to be honest and will probably mean less people join or find the forum.

Well done Steven thanks for that. Forum seems to be fairly flying along at my end with cable running at around 24Mbps it's really fast.
A big difference. 3.6.2 coming out in a few days with more fixes.... Bugger!
Cheers - Neil :)
PS picture is brighter because I changed the colours in some of the forum templates, you will notice they dull off in some of the forums which haven't been changed yet. You can try some of the other colours by changing them in: User CP > Edit Options > Forum Skins

Stu - Try www.woodworkforums.com (http://www.woodworkforums.com)
Cobber - Just tried half a dozen Google searches with different search requirements and was able to get back to forums or Archive fine with each search.
What was it you did a search on. Would like to have a look at the broken link so I can quiz Google about it. Could be that it was a dead link that was deleted from forum or something similar. Robots search the forum and update Google pretty regularly but they don't seem to be able to delete postings or threads that have been deleted from forums after they listed them.
Cheers - Neil :)

The email links still have the wooworkforums.ubeaut links, giving me this page every time:
The Woodworking Forums have been upgraded and moved to a more powerful server. If you are seeing this message it is because your computer is using old DNS records, depending on your ISP or office setup it may take several hours for the new records to filter through to you.
If restarting your computer doesn't help, try the alternate url's below:
www.woodworkforums.com (http://www.woodworkforums.com/)
http://www6.cyanide.com.au/~woodwork/ (http://www6.cyanide.com.au/%7Ewoodwork/)

Tried that - didn't work. Am now using www.woodworkforums.com (http://www.woodworkforums.com)
(At work the DNS updated itself pretty quickly, looks like my ISP for home is a lot slower. One of these days I really should set up a DNS on my own machine....if I knew how to do it!)

Hi Waldo
I did a lookup on you ISP's name servers and its returning the correct IP address for the new server.
www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au. 3600 IN CNAME woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au.
woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au. 3584 IN A 74.52.63.18
Have you tried restarting your PC? If you have a network server it could be worth give it a reboot to, incase its caching the old server address.

G'day cyc,
Restart? That won't explain it happening last night and this baby get's turned off nightly and restarted each morning. Nup, it's a problem with the email notification I'm guessing? The email notification of your post here took me to the old Forum which gave the dud link speil.
Only way I got in here was under cyandie. com bla bla bla, which I have replaced as the Forum address in my favourtites over the old one which has been deleted.
Don't have a network server.
Noope, restart doesn't work. If it helps further I'm running a Mac G5 Quad 2 x 2.5 GHz, 4.5 GB ruuning OSX 10.4.6

Hi Waldo
The problem is caused by your ISP having mismatched dns records. the two dns servers your ISP uses are returning different IP's for www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au (http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au) when I do a look up on them.
dns1.tpgi.com.au woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au. 1688 IN A 69.93.206.106
dns2.tpgi.com.au woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au. 3600 IN A 74.52.63.18
You'll need to wait for them to update. Can you get to www.woodworkforums.com (http://www.woodworkforums.com) ? tpg is returning the right IP for that address.

Hi.
I have no problem with my laptop, but my desk computer will not let me insert and enter the password. It has now gone to the new site.
The problem--When I enter the password, it is cleared as soon as I seek to save and enter it. It means I am told my password is wrong and I strike out after five attempts.
Help!!!!!!!!!!

Hi
If you're getting a stike out ofer 5 tries, it sounds like you entering the wrong password. If you want it reset either use the recover passwrod feature or email one of the mods/admins.

For some reason, I keep having to login. I'll do a page update or go to a link & then I'll have to login again to complete the action. Bit confusing.
