G'day,

Go Storm?

Nah, you've got it wrong fellas, it's GO BRONCOS!!!

Which puts me on another subject, Ch 9. They play the Bulldogs vs Broncos delayed telecast at 12:40 am and play the Storm game live. Very one eyed in a town dominated by some crud thing called AFL for my 2¢.

GO BRONCOS!!!

Did I already say,

GO BRONCOS!!!

Woohoo! :)

Lignum I am a massive RL fan to the point it almost delayed my move down from Sydney.

I am so accustomed to Ch9 not bothering to show Melbourne or show it at 1am that I hadn't realised the game was on at a half decent time.

So managed to catch the 2nd half. Storm have beaten Broncos in recent finals. Might even go and buy a Storm top I saw today.

cheers

For the first time no Sydney based teams in the NRL and no Melbourne Based team in the AFL Grand Finals but a melbourne team in the NRL & a Sydney in the AFL

Bit like the year both Grand Finals finished in a draw ?

Weird

`77 Was the only draw in VFL and none in the AFL, So was `77 the only League draw aswell?

Here we go again ! Quick, jump on the Storm bandwaggon, they need all the help they can to justify News Ltd spending all the money they have to keep them afloat and in the NRL Why would Ch9 want to show the game live in a AFL mad state. GO THE BRONCOS.

I've already got that contingency covered. If I lose the $100, I'll pick it back up on the Caulfield Cup. :D - too easy.

Go the BRONCOS!!:D
The only reason the Storm made it through were two very ordinary decisions (against the Dragons) that led to them scoring both times. The ref as usual makes the difference.
If the ref is on his game next week, the Broncos have it in the bag!!

G/day Lignum,Just noticed your query about the drawn matches .St George drew with Parramatta in 77 (our football team were all there and almost missed our plane home as it went into extra time and still couldn't get a result)They replayed on the following Tuesday(from memory)and St George won I think 22 to nil.Manly drew with Cronulla in 78 and Manly flogged them to nil in the replay, again from memory.77 was the year for draws it seems as the local Aussie Rules Grand Final here in Wagga also finished in a draw along with Sydney and Melbourne.Regards Terry

Benny you should jump on and support the Storm, what other way are you ever going to be able to have a team in a Granny who has a genuine chance of winning;)

bennylaird

Who or wat is the storm? Leave that sort of stuff to the northerners.

Methinks I'll continue to go to Amatuer (VAFA) games and watch real footy rather than the TV sponsored roadshow. Have to put in some support for the Pies though whenever they play and might even watch the Bloods (South Melb) next week in between mowing the lawn.

Mal Meninga? The Canberra Raiders legend?

Why would he play for the Bronco's?

Mixed bag... AFL fan, never followed the NRL but went in a footy tipping comp at work and and came first out of 50+ ppl just by following the tips of a popular morning TV panel show. Got $300 in gift vouchers for Bunnies (mmmm, new router bits plus more) :) Neway, the storm DESERVE to win. Go STORM and go EAGLES. Next year.... carn the Bombers!!!!

The Broncs haven't got an injury, the side is virtually a rep team and Webcke is playing his last game. Look out Storm!!!

BRONCOS!!
And while there were some suspect refereeing decisions, that can be said for any game of the year, and often dictated the outcome.
Well done the Broncos, bad luck Storm, they played well but not good enough on the night that counted!!:p

So Storm lost?

Good thing, hope it discourages Thugby from our lovely state, now just have to hope the wogball team gets thrashed as well. :D

Do we have a wogball team?

Hopefully we will get a decent finals series in the real footy as well next year, was a shame it ended early this year.:p :p

Maybe the poor Victorians not having a team in the G/Final discourages AFL ever being played in Vic again - well 1 can hope. :p

Have really lost interest in Aussie Rules as played in the AFL. The GF was really just a game of keepies off. Think both teams spent more time kicking or handpassing backwards.

Next year I'll keep going to the Amatures games, sit near the bench and enjoy or in the car an beep for goals etc. Eat a hot dog and have a coffee without rquiring a bank loan. See players actually have a go like they used to in the VFL.

Much prefer it televised in Black and White:D :D :D

Also be nice if the victors didn't snatch their medals and could talk without the F word, but then again too much to expect:p
