Well, looking at the next project. The nursing chair that started all this french polishing stuff will be finished this week when I upholster it. The gramophone cabinet gets the hard shellac and polish job later in the week, the desl tidy is finished, the old shoe box is half way through being polished.
Bought a lovely set of timber kitchen chairs years ago and they are suddenly looking tatty. A bit worn, grubby and in need of a good cleanup generally. They cost a fair bit so I want to do them well. Question: will hard shellac and EEE give a reasonably durable finish? I am thinking here of mainly the seats and the top of the backs where they get picked up and moved all the time.
Thoughts welcome - I would prefer to polish them if it will work, as I am really happy with the finishes on the other items, all of which were very old and in a poor state.
Thanks,
Jeff
