View Full Version : Any interest in a Monday thread?

Could be depressing though with a whole weeks wait till the friday thread?

Anyhows, I had a good weekend, no footy to worry about and managed to get a mosaic table top well under way, no woodwork though as shed is still a pigsty. Son is moving out so will get it back as soon as all his furniture etc leaves.

Hope Cliffie is still kicking, looking in the paper to see if there is an anouncement of his demise.

Brendan is now right into his 30's but is he still scratching?

Zed has electrons flowing again, but must be working through his banana pile.

While Silent be Silent on a Monday?

Will this thead be shut down in order to keep the Friday thread theme alive and healthy.

Has Wendy had a BBQ this weekend and cut up all the sausages?

So many questions??????

Morning all.:D :D :D

Took delivery of a #6 (ex trademe) which seems to be in VGC and makes a nice screaming noise when slicing through whatever scrap was lying around for test purposes. The lever cap adjusting screw is bottomed in it's thread - doesn't lock down real hard. Maybe a different lever cap has been substituted for the original. I'll have to restrain this darkside thing. Got 3,4,5 and 6 plus my grandfather's wooden jack plane (he was a bridgebuilder when bridges were made out of 12 x 12 beams; not sure if he personally planed them from round to square...). Joined up a frame to keep birds out of the tunnelhouse when the door is open to let a bit of the heat out. Up at 3.45am to drive to work down south. 4 hours 20 minutes - not bad at all. Commodore is doing consistent 30+mpg.

Absolutely knackered. Spent all day Saturday in a studio recording 14 songs, then played a gig at the pub on Saturday night - home at 2am. Got up on Sunday morning, made the wife breakfast, then spent the day digging pier holes in rock hard ground. I'm glad to be back at work for a rest :D

Wielding a couple of drum sticks for 14 songs must be increadably taxing, no wonder your knackered ;)

Should've recorded punk music. Most of the songs in that genre only go for two, maybe three minutes. Could've been all over in half an hour...;)

Well, I suppose it took an hour to set up and do the sound check. Then we had to wait for the bass player to turn up. We got most of them in one take - drums only, the others have to go back and re-do some tracks - but you stop and listen to each one to make sure it was OK. Then the lightweights wanted to stop for lunch. I wanted to be in and out before 2 but I didn't end up leaving until 4:30.

It's a long way to the top  :p

Three old woodworkers, each with a hearing loss, were playing golf one day.
One remarked to the other, "Windy, isn't it?"
"No," the second man replied, "it's Thursday."
And the third man chimed in, "So am I. Let's have a beer."

As for me, if I have a piece of steak and some potato for tea then my tummy will go funny in an hour or too.

It has been proven so many times that I simply cannot survive without rice for more than 24 hours. I almost died when we were in Anna Bay 2 weeks ago. I got sick and my MIL had to drive 20 minutes to get me a box of fried rice.

I am sorry it is in my system and there is nothing I can do to change it.
