Yeah Al, he was probably looking anyone who could sign for something. ;)
I have the problem where I look like the official one on a job.
I can be standing behind the counter in a name brand servo, screw driver in hand, up to my elbows in a printer/console/etc with 2 or 3 other staff standing around in name brand servo shirts & the dorks coming in will try to pay me.
Maybe I look like I need it. :D
I had a taxi driver throw a $20 note at me 'cos I wouldn't put down my screw driver & serve him.
People in Bunnies, K-mart & Big W come up to me all the time & ask where stuff is... I try to be helpful but if I don't know, I make it up. :D

What I scrawl has no meaning whatsoever... just a spasm of the wrist that looks like a recording by a seismograph on acid. :o
Then again, that describes my handwriting anyway!
Signed off on a delivery of white goods not long ago, the full complement for a new house. I was actually in the middle of the block next door at the time and he came over to me... no questions asked, just a pen'n'board thrust in my general direction. [shrug]

On a similar note, my father was a builder, no phone, no advertising, just word of mouth for work. I was home one day, got a knock on the door, answered it to a lady. She counted out some money for my father for payment for some work, handed it to me, then asked if I lived here?:confused::confused:

I just got $1100 worth of timber delivered to me to make some book shelves for a mate. No signature, didn't even ask my name. Just as well it was the right address.

Used to work in what was the Melbourne Remand Centre, I was in at 6.00am and opened up the admin area and had to pick up all the keys following the correct procedure, name, area, time, number of keys etc, after three years I got a bum kicking for the number of keys as every day I put in 'several' and the elite security squad never noticed:rolleyes:

A friend of mine was a broadcast engineer with the ABC and had to go out to Tullamarine to set up an OB when John Williams arrived from overseas, Mr Williams can be a caustic prick at the best of times so when the interviewer approached him he asked if he could play a small piece, Williams obliged and my friend walked past and threw a 20c piece in his guitar case:D :D :D
Williams was not impressed.

Blimey Al, I never thought of that.
I think the Porter/doorman was showing Joan Collins up to the bedroom at the time. I'll leave the sentance unfinished.
