Water saving toilets - weaker toilet flush?

Having lived in older homes, new toilet in current home (probably 6/3L water saver) has a weak toilet flush in comparison. On occasion when there's extra waste/tissues in pan, it has problems flushing (water builds in pan and doesn't drain properly). I don't suspect plumbing as plumber is well experienced/trusted.

Should I consider a 9/4.5L toilet on my next home? If so, any recommendations on model (p trap)?

How old is the plumbing in the current home ?

If it's clearing then is it really an issue, by that I mean is it overflowing ?

New home - 5 months old. Not really an issue other than odd occasion that water builds up in pan and needs to be flushed a few times to clear waste (doesn't overflow however).

If water is building up in the pan, it's NOT a flush volume issue, more likely to be inadequate vents or I'd reckon.

The only thing that can stop water flowing out of a pan is a blockage of some sort, and believe it or not, air can create that blockage!

6/3 cisterns are fine (I have over 200 of them installed in my current project).

I reckon you need to look elsewhere (or eat a bit of bran!)

thanks for the helpful responses. I think your right re blockage - looking at the bottom of the pan it does look narrow to me. Will stick with a mainstream toilet next time round :)

You don't get it, there is nothing wrong with the pan. 6/3 will work just as well as a 9/4. Having had the ealier type for many years and changing over to 6/3 there is no noticable difference with the flush. Your problem will be back from the pan as has been pointed out to you, put a larger cistern in if you want to waste your time and money.

6/3 will work just as well as a 9/4.
My old man is a plumber and he reckons that some pans work better than others with the 6/3 flush. It's all to do with the shape of the bowl and the size and shape of the outlet. With the old cisterns that dumped a bucket load with every flush, it didn't matter.

However, this is more to do with the ability to leave behind a clean bowl, than it's ability to move wads of paper. Have installed a few different loos of various shapes and sizes over the years and some work better than others but haven't had one that actually blocks up yet.
