Yup, a good day - ended on a high note! (no tools, though I was given the Blues Brothers DVD)

My 4 year old daughter, the little sweetheart, drew up a picture of a handsaw,,,,,coloured it in,,,,,cut it out and wrote on it
' Your the best dad I ever SAW' . I stuck it up on the wall.
My 8 year old said ....'happy fathers day dad,,,can I have 5 bucks'
My wife was kind to me .....she cooked me lamb chops for tea, which I demolished..... tryed to milk this fathers day thing for all its worth, but she was tired.....so I'm on the computer again.

Had a great day, Daughter rang and sang Happy Fathers day to me, later she rang back so my grandsons could say "Happy fathers day". Was good...
THEN.....
My sons didn't bother at all and when I dropped the dog back to my wifes I found her screwing the town weirdo in the shed..... I had a wonderful bluddy day!

Hi,
The Fur family, (3 cats) meowed "Happy Father's Day" in unison.
I made a Jarrah Coffee table.
Napped in the Afternoon.
Had Meatloaf (not the singer) for tea.
Asleep at 8:30PM
Rather boring considering everyone else's day!
Regards,
Rob

And bar-humbug to commercial Christmas too :) - but having said that i am not going to miss a golden opportunity to enhance my present collection with nothing - lucky dad got a pair of socks from SWMBO and a pair of socks from daughter and a pair of socks from bub.
Then out of the blue came a group present bought from them all - two rosewood timber markers and a triton superjaws with log grip attachments. WOW :D
And yes I did buy the last few items to give the tribe to give to me :D , but in the true spirit of fathersday I did leave the timber markers in the airfreight bag from timbecon till they were unwrapped on fathersday and I did do my best to forget i got the superjaws in the study (hidden  ) till the majic day.
We had a lovely day out picnic - kick ball - bushwalk etc. I like fathers day.
Phoned dad etc etc.

My HWMBO had a lovely day with his elder daughter, an impromptu dinner with friends and a few drinks together.
My Dad loved his ottoman but was absolutely stoked with the 4 empty plastic milk bottles I'd saved for him  (he uses them for a small watering system for his favourite plants)
Dad-IL would have worn one of his two new leather belts but the belts are still a little toooo big for him:o . All in all a great day.
Cheers

Guess I qualify these days - the furrys (2 dogs 2 cats) got me some DVDs, and the little-one-in-waiting got me a toy train so I'd be able to test some wood train track :D
The 2 1/2 of us then headed to Sandown to watch the V8s. Pity it didn't rain - nothing like the sight of twisted metal :D

Got up at 1/4 to 8 (slept in a bit), had breakfast, pulled down the tent and packed all the gear, then walked for 3 hours to where we left the car the day before. Drove home, had lunch, had a spa, then watched a silly kid's movie (Madagascar).
When the kids came back from their Aunty's, I got a box of plastic dominoes with a brown hanky wrapped around it (haven't had one of them since I was a kid) from my son (he picked it). Daughter gave me the DVD of Pulse (Pink Floyd concert). Went to Mums for tea. Watched part 2 of Touch of Frost. Went to bed.

My youngest daughter gave me a BBQ set and thanked me for a life time of unconditional support, love and friendship and for being the best dad a girl could hope for:) . My eldest daughter boycotted the day altogether and kept the grand children away.
Mixed bag I guess.

Bit late but, got taken out for lunch and had to pay:confused: box of nose robes from daughters, they seem to mysteriously vanish over the course of the year, sleazed in with some camphor laurel that SWMBO doesn't know about and a couple of videos from SWMBO, Hancocks half hour, she thinks I like them but haven't had the heart to tell her I don't.

Actually it reminds me of the Tom Jones CD I bought for my wife a few years ago. We had a garage sale before we left Sydney and there was Tom in the $2 pile. I thought there must've been some mistake but no, she hates him and could never understand why I bought it for her :o

Had an 'Uncle's day' today... while their Mum & Dad had a night out & a day at the races, we cleaned up the banana patch, hooned around on the tractor & then went to the shed to do some turning. :D :D :D
I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
The good thing about nieces & nephews is that they go home, eventually. :D

The bowl is Sarsaparilla.
The Mallet is a Silky Oak handle & a Blue Gum head.
The Bowl is still very wet so is rough turned.
We will finish it next month.
