After having my house restumped I need to replace the Plinth boards at the bottom of the house.

Anyone know what sort of timber to use and the rough cost per metre.

cheers

I used 75x25 rough sawn treated pine from http://www.atpine.com.au/home.htm just up the road in Campbellfiled. cost was around $1.50 pm. The 150x25 was only about $1.80 pm but I get a more spaces with narrower boards (improved ventilation) and the ground is a but ueven so I avoided having to rip or bury wider boards. I screwed battens at to the backs of the boards (cut a bit shorter at the top to clear the bearers) to reduce / control twist.

The boards were still damp when I got them so I installed them pretty much straight away. I waited until they dried a bit before painting and they are fine (7 months later).

Thanks Disston. This link will come in handy for the treated pine retaining wall also.
