Few years back i had some electrical work done, now my flood lights(with sensor) out the front don't work at all.

Have only checked one bulb so far, which worked fine in another light fitting. The other bulb is higher than my longest ladder, so has not been checked yet...They are both wired into the same switch.

How long is electricians work covered against possible faults.... Not saying they are at fault.:)

HJ0 Cheers ...Please tell me i don't have to get up on my roof to check the bulb.

Sensor units like anything else have a life, it might mean the unit needs adjusting or replacing. It could of course also be a problem with wiring or supply but the unit is the most likely cause. Best to get an electrician in to check it out, if it is the unit I bet it is outside its warranty, and the life of the unit is not anything the electrician has any control over.

Dont know what brand of sensor you have but mine (cheap brand) also failed after some time in operation. I did investigate and found a faulty component which I replaced. Worked fine since. (yes I am qualfied)

Your problem is almost certainly not a blown globe. It's something else.

When you see the van pull out of your driveway....that's it.

Fair chance the sensor itself is kaput. The best setup is to put up a (or a couple of) good floodlight & a separate good sensor wired to it/them. The all in one units are not the best quality.

The front yard sensor is seperate , also have a built-in sensor on my garage out the back(totaly exposed). Thats been working for over 8 years with the same bulbs....guess my dog tripping it off whenever he detects a possible intruder(every chance he gets lol) means nothing.

Can remember when the sparky, unscrewed the light switch inside the house. Cursing whoever done the wiring.

Thanks for the advice all.;)

HJ0 Shouldn't have let that sparky out of the gate.:)
